The 2nd IUBMB Education Conference 2019 in conjunction with its 46th PSBMB Annual Convention (IUBMB 2019 PHILIPPINES) will take place during 13-15 November 2019 at The Manila Hotel, Manila City, Philippines with the theme, Harnessing Interdisciplinary Education in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
The event will be a great opportunity for gaining new insights and renewed engagements in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Education under an interdisciplinary background. Among the highlights are the round table discussions and mini lectures on many topics, which include:
BMB Education for K-12 Teachers,
BMB Education for Medical School Educationists,
BMB Education for Undergraduate and Post Graduate,
BMB in Health Sciences,
Tools in Teaching BMB,
BMB Continuing Education in the Industry,
Publishing in Education, and
Laboratory Classes in BMB Education
One goal is to bring to the surface issues, challenges and best practices that may advance BMB Education in the region and in the world in general. There will be Plenary sessions by renowned researchers and academicians. There will be mini lectures followed by round table discussion wherein participants can join the speaker for a more interactive discussion of the topic presented and/or share experiences.
Another goal is the publication of the outputs from the Conference.
TRAVEL BURSARIES TO THE CONFERENCE
There are two types of travel bursaries available, each with their own conditions and eligibility criteria
- Tang Travel Bursaries
Guidelines for Tang Travel Bursaries to attend the 2019 IUBMB – PSBMB Education Conference
A certain number of travel bursaries are available for young educator/scientists to enable participation in the IUBMB-PSBMB Education Conference in Manila. These grants cover the registration fee, and support travel and accommodation costs up to a maximum of US$1000.
The deadline for submitting an application is 23 September 2019.
Eligibility criteria
- The applicant must be a member of their national biochemistry society;
- The applicant cannot be a resident of the country hosting the event (i.e., Philippines);
- The applicant must have at least two years of teaching experience;
- Only travel from the applicant’s current country of residence to the Philippines is supported;
- Priority will be given to applicants from under developed countries
